Why OSG?

Orion Sovereign Group (OSG) is a company founded by a group of highly experienced diplomats and veterans with many decades of experience. The company is primarily veteran-owned and led and operates nationally in the defence, government, and private sector space.

The OSG Board has a rare blend of skills, with board members coming from various defence, government, and private sector backgrounds. From ex Special Forces personnel, to Diplomats and business and legal professionals, it is a unique board leading a unique company.

OSG is 100% Australian-Owned

OSG’s key point of difference compared to many other companies in the marketplace is that we are 100% Australian-owned. That means your money stays in Australia. Using an Australian-owned and managed company offers an advantage, especially when you want to protect your most important physical assets and intellectual property. Using an Australian company minimises any potential security risks and threats that may be experienced if dealing with a foreign-controlled company.

OSG Provides Services Nationally

Now, more than ever, it’s important that Australia’s critical infrastructure is protected. OSG is equipped to deliver these quality services to Defence, government, and the private sector, Australia-wide:

  • Security – physical security of assets and facilities
  • Integrated facility services, including maintenance, groundskeeping, and cleaning
  • Consulting on Defence-related projects
  • Consulting for industry and government, including legal and compliance, strategy, and growth planning
  • HR and recruitment services, including transition and support for Defence employees and former serving members
  • Technology consulting, cyber security and IT, including robotics and drones.

OSG Has a Skilled Workforce

OSG considers our people as our greatest asset. As such, we invest in them and offer training, employment pathways, and opportunities to help them to fulfil their career goals. OSG has attracted a talented team who are passionate about quality service delivery. With a team of 1,900 people in 39 locations, across a broad range of service areas, OSG has the capability to deliver quality services to our customers nationally.

OSG is Committed to Supporting Other Australian Businesses

OSG is committed to purchasing Australian goods and services wherever possible in the running of the company. Every cent of expenditure goes through a rigorous decision process to explore Australian alternatives before spending any money overseas. If OSG cannot find a comparable alternative in Australia, we will only consider suppliers located within the four countries that are part of the Five Eyes partnership: Canada, United States, New Zealand, or United Kingdom.

Through spending our money in Australia, OSG is supporting other Australian businesses. More broadly, that means helping to build a strong economy, to create more jobs and a more sustainable future for Australian people. It also means OSG, as a company, is less susceptible to the negative impacts of a slow supply chain, which are hurting many industries worldwide right now.

OSG Supports Defence Employees and Veterans

OSG knows that the frequent relocation cycle can be a source of stress and discomfort for ADF members. It can be a challenging time for their whole family. Partners often need to leave jobs they enjoy, children need to change schools, and family routines change as the family tries to adapt to a new location as best they can. OSG People is making inroads by helping ADF spouses to match their skillset with OSG employment opportunities around Australia. Connecting ADF spouses with job opportunities can help ease the transition to a new place and reduce the pressure on ADF families.

For ADF Members planning to transition out of Defence, OSG can provide transition support. This includes a wide range of initiatives to help minimise the stress of transition. As a primarily veteran-owned and run company, OSG recognises the difficulty to transition to civilian life. It is our aim to help improve the post-Defence experience for veterans through our programs and support.

OSG is Creating Employment Pathways for Australia’s Indigenous People

OSG is committed to creating opportunities for Australia’s Indigenous People through training, employment, and career support. OSG’s Indigenous Division is proactively building relationships with Indigenous communities in locations where we operate, across Australia. Through collaboration with these communities, OSG hopes to identify the obstacles and further opportunities for Indigenous involvement in our operations.

OSG offers an inclusive and welcoming environment for Indigenous People. The board and leadership team have a culturally sensitive approach to management and are committed to the employment and advancement of Indigenous Australians within the company.

OSG is Investing in Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Over the past two decades, advancements in technology and systems have revolutionised the Defence, government, and industry sectors. OSG recognises the importance of keeping up to date about new innovations and trends in the industry. We are also active investors in innovation, new technology, and systems and are always looking for new solutions to problems our customers may face.

An important part of OSG’s innovation capabilities is our commitment to continuous improvement. We actively listen to our customers, stakeholders, and staff, and we welcome feedback. Having an in-depth knowledge of the problems and pain points within our sphere of operations helps to prioritise our resources and our investment in innovation.
